Dr. Artemis Motamedi received her Ph.D. degree from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran. She is currently working as a faculty member at the Civil Engineering Department, Buein Zahra Technical University, and as a senior researcher at the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environments (CAS), Chengdu, China. She also has rich professional experiences and presided over or participated in several projects: a guest researcher at the Center for Resource Management and Environment Studies (CERMES) at the University of West Indies, senior researcher at the water and wastewater company of Isfahan (Iran), and as a senior research associate at the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (CAS), Chengdu, China. Dr. Artemis Motamedi has published several papers in international journals, international conferences, and book chapters.
Mahmood Fayazi is a researcher at the Centre RISC (Research center of innovations on public safety and security in Québec). since January 2020, Dr. Fayazi also has been an adjunct professor at the University of Montréal's School of Architecture. He holds a Ph.D. in Planning from the University of Montreal, and his research aims to explain why and how environmental disturbances, climate change pressures and post-disaster interventions affect human settlements. Before joining the Center RISC in March 2021, Dr. Fayazi participated in several research projects in South Asia, the Middle East, and North America. His areas of expertise are climate justice, urban resilience, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction. He has published the results of his research in a book, several scientific articles and at numerous international conferences. In parallel with his research activities, Dr. Fayazi has also developed several courses and taught at Sichuan University in China, University of Montreal, McGill University, and York University in Canada.
Dr. Mojtaba Valibeigi Darvishvand is dedicated assistant professor of geography and urban planning, Buein Zahra Technical University (BZTE), Iran. with over 8 years of experience in teaching and research. He is keen to leverage environmental & participation approaches for local community development. He is particularly interested in how public participation and peoples’ attachment to place could reshape regional and urban area towards social and environmental resilience. He had more than 30 publications in the areas of urban & regional public polices, Environmental Quality, Disaster Risk Management & Environmental Resilience. Besides, he is the Reviewer for three journals of Social Indicator Research, Journal of Geography and Planning, Journal of Studies of Human Settlements and also the Editorial Member of Green Building & Construction Economics.
Dr. Majid Galoie received his Ph.D. degree from Graz University of Technology (TUG), Graz, Austria. He is currently working as a faculty member at the Civil Engineering Department, Imam Khomeini International University, Iran, and a senior researcher at the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (CAS), Chengdu, China. He also has participated in several projects in the field of climate change and numerical modeling at the Center for Resource Management and Environment Studies (CERMES) at the University of West Indies (as a Post-Doc Fellow), senior researcher and numerical modeler at Water Research Institute (WRI), and senior research associate at the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (CAS), Chengdu, China. He has published several papers, books, and chapter books in different fields of water engineering such as flood engineering, river engineering, numerical methods, technical manuals, etc.
