Dr. Liton Chakraborty, Prof. Sasan Motaghed, Prof. Waheed Ullah, Mr. Aditya Sharma will Be Present At ICED2023 Conference!

ICED2023 will be held in a more convenient online way on October 26, 2023. Dr. Liton Chakraborty, Prof. Sasan Motaghed, Prof. Waheed Ullah, Mr. Aditya Sharma will be present at ICED2023 conference!

Dr. Liton Chakraborty is a Research Associate at the University of Waterloo, and his research interests center on assessing social vulnerability, environmental and social inequities, and racial/ethnic disparities in exposure to climate change risks. Through his research initiatives, Liton has created a Social Vulnerability Index (SoVI) for Canada to inform equity and socioeconomic variability for diverse Canadian communities, highlighting factors representing the social construction of climate change risk. For his exceptional contributions to the Canada-wide Flood Hazard Model, Liton received the Creativity and Innovation Award as part of the 2022 Departmental Awards and Recognition Ceremony of Public Safety Canada. Liton published his research work in multiple impactful, internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals, such as Environmental Research, Risk Analysis, International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, and International Journal of Disaster Risk Science. Besides, Dr. Liton has more than 16 years of academic experience with teaching, policy-informed research project development, and engagement in interdisciplinary and applied research projects. He is an expert in evaluating the causes and effects of any spatial, economic, and social phenomenon on society. He thoroughly understands social vulnerability, GBA+, systemic inequity, community well-being assessment, and policy development emphasizing an equity-centered, intersectional approach.

Dr. Sasan Motaghed works currently as the assistant professor at faculty of the Engineering faculty at Behbahan Khatam Alanbia University of Technology (BKATU). Dr. Sasan's research interest lie in seismic hazard analysis, sensitivity analysis, seismic analysis, and structural analysis. Dr. Sasan has more than 16 years of experience in teaching and managing in university. He presided over or joined in many research projects and made great progress. He had been awarded for his contributions for many times. Dr. Sasan has published 3 books and more than 20 papers in international journals and has actively participated in many conferences in related fields and brought people many excellent papers.

Dr. Waheed Ullah received his PhD degree from Nanjing University of Information Sciences and Technology in 2019. He has rich professional experience, and worked as associate professor or lecturer at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, and mentoring undergraduate students in their research synopsis and report and supervised graduate and doctoral candidates with thesis and manuscript assessment. He currently works as associate professor at Rabdan Academy, Abu-Dhabi U.A.E. His research interests focus on Modelling human thermal stress over the Arabian Peninsula from meteorological data including in-situ observations, satellite retrievals, reanalysis and projections, Artificial Intelligence (Deep/Machine learning) for forecasting/predicting urban heat waves and their local drivers, Modeling the impact of the CO2 emissions in changing the state of the land atmosphere interaction, etc. He has published more than 50 papers in international journals. Prof. Waheed Ullah severs as guest editor of special issues in Atmosphere MDPI, review editor for Frontiers in Environmental Sciences-Climate, and the reviewer of 9 international journals, such as Hydrology and Earth System Sciences, Arabian Journal of Geosciences, Hazards, Natural Hazards, etc. He participated in workshops or conferences many times and gave presentations. He received several fellowships and awards, including Chinese Government Scholarship for PhD studies in China, Outstanding international graduate award in China, An outstanding member of the International Meteorological student association in China.

Mr. Aditya Sharma is pursuing Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from Central University of Rajasthan, India. His research interests focus on Weather and Climate Extremes, Hydrological Modelling, Hydrometeorology, and Regional Climate Modelling. Currently, he is working on the hydrometeorological applications and related impacts in a changing climate. He also worked on Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model for simulation and forecasting of extreme weather events. His research attempt to enhance the understanding of the extreme precipitation events and drought conditions at a regional-basin level. And Mr. Aditya Sharma has peer review research articles of more than 10 International Journals, including International Journal of Climatology, Meteorological Applications, Theoretical and Applied Climatology, etc. He has also research experienced of 5 international and national projects funded by Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN), Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India.
